Student Government Association (SGA) Elections

The Student Government Association (SGA) is composed of students that have been elected by their peers to represent and advocate for all members of the student body. They are the sole initiator of student legislation, executive process, and judicial review.



The Division of Student Affairs at Touro University California holds an SGA election every Spring to determine a new administration that will serve the students of Touro University California. Information included on this page is vital to running for a TUC Student Government Association (SGA) elected office. Please read it carefully as you will be held responsible for information contained within.

Candidates must meet the requirements as outlined in the constitution in order to run for office. Students considering running for office can learn about the available positions and the opportunities to attend information sessions from the Office of Student Activities.

The SGA is comprised of the following positions :

VP of Finance

VP of Academic Affairs

VP of Student Health and Wellness

VP of Communications

VP of Online Content

VP of Diversity and Inclusion

VP of Student Engagement

VP of Athletics

VP of Community Outreach

VP of Alumni Affairs

Election Days Procedures

Elections take place over a one week period, to be set by the Division of Student Affairs.

Students will cast their votes on-line using the TUConnect Portal.

The entire student body will cast votes for the respective candidates running for President, Vice President,etc..

Results

The candidate with the highest number of votes for each office shall be deemed the winner.

The election results will be posted through an e-mail to all current students. This e-mail will be sent out as soon as the vote count has been verified.

When there is a tie by two or more candidates for any vacancy, a run-off election will be held.
