The Office of the Registrar

Congratulations on your acceptance to Touro University California! By securing and maintaining your student information and records, the Office of the Registrar is the resource for many of your administrative tasks. Focused on your progress, the Office manages your transcripts, grades, and course information – providing multiple services for students, staff, and alumni. The Office of the Registrar provides students with the following services:

Student registration, adding or dropping classes, transcript requests, degree audits, final course grades and grade change requests, veterans Affairs benefits, withdrawal and leave of Absence requests, name change requests. We also assist with matters related to Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), tracking graduation and completion rates, and other student enrollment related matters.

Policies and Resources

Important Policies and Resources are available to you both in the catalog and on the website. Many, specific to your program can be found in your own departmental handbooks. The Touro App and Webpage are often great places to start!

Annually (and as part of this orientation) the University is required to provide you information on the following policies that must be acknowledged by you to proceed. Specifically, the Drug and Alcohol free work space and the Family Educational Records Protection Act.

University Catalog

All students are required to read the University Catalog. Students are expected to adhere to the policies contained within the catalog and those found in student handbooks of their individual program. You will want to refer to your program's webpage at www.tu.edu for specifics.
Contained within the catalog are two policies which students must acknowledge, and review annually, to proceed as a student:

FERPA

The Family Educational Right to Privacy Act (FERPA) is a law intended to protect students records and grant students the right to review access to some records. Please make sure to read the policy in its entirety.

Drug Free Schools, Communities and Workplace

Touro University California prohibits the unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensing, possession, or use of a controlled substance in the workplace, on school property, or as part of any school activity. Please make sure to find the full policy in the Appendix of the University Catalog.

Academic Calendar and Deadlines

Every program has a unique academic calendar that students are responsible for. The calendar includes registration dates, term start and end dates, tuition refund deadlines and the final day to add or drop a course. It is in every student's best interest to familiarize themselves with the calendar and to mark important dates on a personal calendaring device so as not to miss any deadlines. You will find the academic calendar for your program located on the Registrar Page in your TouroOne Portal.

National Student Clearinghouse

Touro University California has contracted with the National Student Clearinghouse to process all degree and enrollment certification requests from third parties (e.g., employers, lenders, etc.). Inquiries delivered by National Student Clearinghouse, acting as the University's agent, are based on official TUC student records.

Visit the National Student Clearinghouse website for service 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.

If you need additional assistance, contact National Student Clearinghouse directly at 703-742-4200. Customer Service Hours: Mondays through Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Eastern Standard Time.

If the National Student Clearinghouse can confirm your degree or enrollment, the response is immediate and requestors will be able to print and/or obtain a PDF version of the certification.

Enrollment certifications for each term will be available approximately 3 weeks following the first day of classes for that term.

What Is FERPA?

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that affords parents the right to have access to their children's education records, the right to seek to have the records amended, and the right to have some control over the disclosure of personally identifiable information from the education records. When a student turns 18 years old, or enters a postsecondary institution at any age, the rights under FERPA transfer from the parents to the student ("eligible student"). To read the TUC FERPA policy in its entirety, please read insert link

FERPA affords students with the following rights:

- Inspect and review your records
- Amendment of education records
- Disclosure of directory information
