Welcome to Student Counseling Services

TUC is more than a university, we are a community. In our community, it is a priority to support your overall wellness. As you begin your journey at TUC we want you to know we care about your personal wellbeing as well as your academics. Student Wellness is made up of Student Counseling Services and Student Health Services. Our job is to support your physical, mental, and emotional health from the moment you become a TUC student. Student Counseling and Student Health share a holistic view of health and wellness and work to help you find balance, healing, health, and the support you need to navigate your program

Our Services

Our services are strictly CONFIDENTIAL. That means we DO NOT share anything about you outside the university or with your college, faculty, staff, or administration (unless there is an immediate safety issue). Student Counseling Services provides help to address the concerns facing TUC students. We offer individual counseling and psychotherapy, couple's counseling, crisis intervention, and consultation. All services are provided by licensed professionals in a nonjudgmental environment with respect for the diversity that makes up TUC. Student Counseling Services are completely CONFIDENTIAL and FREE to all students.

Common Concerns Include:

Adjustment to graduate school, anxiety, worry, stress, depression, anger, relationship concerns, loneliness, family & cultural Issues, grief and loss, changes in thoughts, feelings, or behavior, eating & body Image, self-esteem and self-criticism, academic performance and alcohol/drug issues.

Appointments

Counseling appointments are offered both in-person on campus and through HIPAA compliant two-way encrypted video sessions.

Ryan Guetersloh MA, LMFT: Director of Counseling Services

Ryan is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, experienced presenter, and educator. He has worked extensively in college mental health and private practice, serving a wide range of client issues. His approach is warm, gentle, invested, and interactive. CA LMFT #42010

Riva Mullins MA, LMFT: Licensed Counselor

Riva is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and brings with her a wealth of training, education, and experience. She earned her Master's degree from JFK University and has been in practice for eleven years. Her approach is warm, thoughtful, and gentle. CA LMFT #50503
