The goal of these community clinical scenarios is to provide a highly realistic learning resource for health professional students to help them develop skills in interviewing and interacting with patients from underrepresented backgrounds. Standardized patients (acted by student and faculty facilitators) will participate in skill demonstration and instruction, practice and experience, and evaluation and assessment. There will be three groups of students who will work with clinical scenarios involving a case with a patient who identifies from an underrepresented minority group. (Latinx, African-American/African, LGBTQIA+). Each group will be given 15-20 minutes to take a history of the encounter and then will rotate to the next patient. At the end of each encounter the standardized patient will give feedback to each group. Observe and acquire presentation styles exhibited by students from various disciplines. After the clinical encounters, each group will then present their experience to the entire class. This includes their thoughts on the encounter, the challenges the group faced and what the group feels they have learned or can improve on for next time. The class will be given time to ask questions and/or give feedback on the presenting group's experience
