Mission -To improve the quality of healthcare for individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders and intellectual disabilities.-To promote and improve interprofessional activities among members. -To serve the community by participating in community forums and fairs to educate the public about health and education related to neurodevelopmental disorders and intellectual disabilities.-To provide education and training to medical students with the aim of addressing gaps in medical education regarding serving patients with developmental disabilities in order to promote structural competency.-To raise community awareness about health stigmas and disparities in the developmental disabilities population, especially in Vallejo/Solano County.
Membership Benefits-As a member of Touro's only group for disabilities currently, you can learn, understand, discuss issues, and advocate for individuals in this group. -Receiving announcements regarding sessions for Touro's Diverse Perspectives on Developmental Disabilities and Health Elective.-Being the first students to hear about volunteer opportunities involving teaching about topics such as neurodiversity in public schools and assisting in Special Olympics events
