Sports Medicine Recovery Booth at the Touro Basketball Tournament

The Sports Medicine Recovery Booth is an opportunity for Touro students to practice OMT on athletes in the community before and/or after a sporting event to promote functional movement and recovery. This is a great opportunity to work with community members and teach them about osteopathic principles and treatments, as well as support active lifestyles. This Sports Medicine Recovery Booth event will be at the Touro Basketball Tournament at Lander Hall, working with student athletes and any other attendees. PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE REGISTERING AS A VOLUNTEER.

In registering as an OMT Student Volunteer for this event, you agree to (1) fill out a waiver that is included in the registration process and (2) watch pre-event videos reviewing osteopathic treatments that will be helpful for athletes immediately pre- and post-event. There will be 1 faculty preceptor supervising and aiding in treatments. Please note the start time is to arrive at Lander Hall at 6:30 PM, but the event starts at 8:00 PM. The early start will give us time to practice techniques prior to attendees arriving.

In registering as a Check-in Volunteer for this event, you agree to (1) fill out a waiver that is included in the registration process. It is OPTIONAL for you to (2) watch pre-event videos reviewing osteopathic treatments that will be helpful for athletes immediately pre- and post-event.

Expect to wear a mask throughout the entire duration of the event, use hand sanitizer while working with participants and between participants, and wipe down your table. We will not be providing lunch, so please bring your own and you should have time to take a break to eat it.

If you need to cancel, please try to do so at least a week prior to the event so we can fill your spot. If spots run out and you are unable to volunteer with this one, try to register to stay on the waiting list.
